Her Coffee

 She sipped on hope, but the taste turned bitter,

Left the cup half-full, her heart even emptier.


Summer breeze made her leave her work to have a cup of coffee to compensate for all the cold cups. She had a few sips and left the mug when having a coffee was all her pleasure. The reason for looking outside the window is to calm the thunder inside the room.

What Was Never Learned

I never learned that people are not meant to stay, that closeness does not guarantee permanence, that hands held today may be empty tomorrow. I believed friendships had roots, not expiry dates. I believed laughter meant loyalty, and presence meant commitment. I never learned that parents, too, are borrowed, that even love wrapped in prayers can be taken by time, leaving rooms full and hearts hollow. Those who once called me their favorite where did they go? Their words still exist, but only as memories that do not answer back. The irony is heavy if years ago everything had been placed on the table, if silence had been replaced with truth, I would have stood there still choosing, still staying. "Family is not always blood"

If families are not present to support you emotionally, financially or socially then its useless to call them as family. Its divine phenomena, though cannot be changed but yes cannot be often consider. In every family few are financially and socially strong, few are born disable, few are born abnormal, to support each other, to stand in crucial times with one another. If you lack these qualities then sorry you are not worth to be called as a member of family.
