On Thursday, 1st June 2023, a man of exceptional courage and fortitude solemnly took his oath within the ceremonial hall of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Within those very walls that had previously witnessed his resignation, he now embraced the weighty responsibility before him. In his unwavering commitment to upholding the faith of the people and preserving his personal integrity, he willingly relinquished all the privileges rightfully due to him, as he remained under inquiry. An inquiry that, curiously, faded into obscurity.

None can deny the undeniable truth that his legacy sprouted from Bengal, with a profound role in the formation of Pakistan—a fervent patriot who chose to settle in our beloved nation, leaving his ancestral roots in India. A man of unwavering conviction who adamantly refused to take the oath under the Provisional Constitutional Order- 2007. A man entrusted with the esteemed position of the First Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court, tirelessly serving in the Lahore High Court, offering his utmost dedication to the people of Pakistan. Time and the relentless tide of events bear witness to the virtues of honesty and loyalty that course through his veins.

And now, on this day, Mr. Iqbal Hameed Ur Rehman, with his regal Bengali heritage coursing through his veins, embarks upon a new chapter as he solemnly assumes the mantle of Chief Justice of the Federal Shariat Court of Pakistan. Verily, Allah alone knows best, and it is He who bestows upon us the very finest.
